This is definitely one of my favorite recipes to make when I crave chocolate, and I promise you, that’s quite often!!! Because it’s so easy and fast to prepare, this mousse has become my go-to dessert in time of need.
The really cool thing about this dessert is how healthy and nutritious it is. And most importantly, you can even fool the biggest skeptics and end children into eating this yumminess.
Avocado alone provides you with 60% more potassium than banana does. With high levels of Folic Acid and vitamin B6, avocado helps to stimulate the production of serotonin, you know, that brain chemical that makes us happy.
So now, let’s add raw cacao to the mix. And if you have been following me for at least a little while, you probably know how much I LOVE me some cacao!!!
From balancing the mood and acting as anti-depressant, cacao reduces appetite, increases energy, helps with weight loss, detoxifies the liver, builds strong bones and helps cardiovascular health, to say the least.
Also, cacao and banana both help to regulate and reduce PMS symptoms for women, which is always a good thing.
I honestly can keep on going and going on how healthy this dessert actually is, and I haven’t even mentioned anything about walnuts, dates or coconut oil!!!
So, set your guilt a side and dive into this heavenly treat that no one would ever believe is vegan or raw.

- 1 large ripe avocado
- 1 ripe banana
- 1-2 Tbsp coconut oil, melted
- 4 Medjool dates, pitted
- 1/4 cup raw cacao powder
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Combine all ingredients in a food processor and mix well to achieve smooth consistency.
Spoon your mouse into a serving dish or glass jar and refrigerate for at least an hour.
